When the harp
enters the space

There is something otherworldly about hearing the harp. The resonance awakens a gentle remembering.

Alycen plays a luminous electroacoustic LED harp with a sound that can feel delicate enough to stop time and expansive enough to fill a festival space.

Her original music moves between composed pieces and the freedom to follow what is happening in the aether.

Listeners have described her playing as angelic, ethereal, heavenly, magical, and trance-inducing.

The music becomes part of movement, conversation, sunset, ceremony, or the celebration already unfolding around it.

The harp adorns
the atmosphere.

An ancient instrument for the moment we’re in

Alycen sees music as one of our oldest human technologies.

Humans have always used music to gather.

To mark thresholds.

To celebrate.

To move.

To enter trance.

To commune with something larger than the thinking mind.

That lineage is alive in the way she plays.

The harp carries an ancient resonance.

Amplification allows that resonance to inhabit a modern environment.

Improvisation and live looping give the music room to respond.

Alycen weaves layers of harmony, rhythm, and texture built in real time.

The form changes, responding to the room.

Music + human experience

Music as a way
of remembering

Alycen’s relationship with music is intertwined with a larger devotion to human sovereignty.

Her work as a holistic nurse has given her an intimate view into the ways environment, emotion, rhythm, sensory experience, and relationship shape how we experience ourselves.

Music belongs inside that inquiry.

A note reaches the body before the mind has decided what it means. Rhythm can pull us into movement. Repetition can become trance. Beauty can interrupt the noise. A shared musical moment can remind a room full of people that they are here together.

This is the territory Alycen is interested in:

where music becomes ceremony, ceremony becomes celebration, and gathering becomes a way of healing and remembering.

Ceremony + celebration

Live

Every environment asks for something different.

Alycen’s performances can range from a single unaccompanied harp beneath the open sky to a layered electroacoustic set built for a festival stage.

01

Original harp sets

Original compositions played solo with space for spontaneous riffing and exploration inside the music.

Intimate, transporting, and deeply alive.

02

Immersive electroacoustic sets

Amplified harp that can move between spacious melodic pieces and more expansive rhythmic territory.

Live looping can be woven into these sets to create layered soundscapes in real time.

03

Ambient environments

Extended harp music for gathering spaces, dinners, lounges, installations, sunsets, arrivals, and transitions.

Music that gives a space its own atmosphere.

04

Movement + trance

Live accompaniment for yoga, conscious movement, dance, embodiment, sound baths, and experiences where music becomes part of the journey.

05

Collaborative improvisation

Spontaneous collaboration with DJs, electronic artists, instrumentalists, and other musicians.

A shared musical language created in the moment.

06

Ceremony + meditation

Harp for meditation, reflection, ritual, sound-based experiences, and the quieter thresholds of a gathering.

The harp was
always there

Alycen came into the world wanting to play the harp.

There was no family tradition.

There was no formative encounter with a harp in childhood.

There was simply a certainty that this instrument was hers.

At nine years old, after several years of piano to prove to her parents that this was not a phase, she finally began harp lessons.

She has been a harpist ever since.

Over time, her relationship with the instrument moved toward original composition and the freedom inside a piece of music.

She loves the architecture of a song.

She also loves the moment when the song opens and something unexpected comes through.

That instinct eventually led her toward improvisation, electroacoustic performance, and live looping.

She has studied with healing harpist Amy Camie, CCM, and live-looping harp innovator Deborah Henson-Conant.

For Alycen, the harp itself holds a metaphor for being human.

Every string carries its own tension.

Every string carries its own voice.

There are no bad notes.
Only passing tones.
